Dr Dermot Power
Dr Dermot Power is a consultant in geriatric medicine at the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital and Cappagh National Orthopaedic Hospital. In addition, he is UCD Intern Network Coordinator and Director of Postgraduate Medical Education.
A graduate of medicine in UCD, Dr Power subsequently trained at the John Radcliffe Hospital and Radcliffe Infirmary in Oxford and has: a Fellowship of the RCPI, an MD from UCD and a Diploma in Management for Medical Doctors, jointly awarded by the RCSI and the Irish Management Institute.
A member of the British Geriatrics Society and currently President of the Royal Academy of Medicine in Ireland, he has served on the boards of the Health Information and Quality Authority and the Health Service Executive also. On top of this he has developed a number of novel services for older persons in north Dublin, including a geriatric Rapid Access Clinic.
