Judging Process

Who are our Judges?

Our judges are all highly-experienced professionals in the sector who have decades of experience in Irish healthcare and the health service. We ask some of the country’s most respected physicians, medical educators, patient advocates, healthcare leaders and managers to participate in judging our awards, and to give us their huge experience and knowledge to help us pick the winning entries. As individuals, and as a panel, they offer us expertise, personal experience and impartiality to give us the opportunity to name the national winners of each Healthcare Award.

Process

Each Judge will review each written submission with any supporting material, and judge them against the category criteria, scoring them on their individual merit. The judging panel will then meet to discuss their findings and scores, and decide the outright winner and, where appropriate, the runners-up or highly-commended candidates.

As well as choosing the winners and finalists of each category, the judges also choose an overall ‘An Duais Mhór’ winner - the overall outstanding person, project or organisation chosen from all of the category winners.
