Dr Gozie Offiah

Gozie Offiah is currently a Senior Lecturer in the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and the National Clinical Lead for Intern Training in the Medical Intern Unit, Health Service Executive. She has experience in both undergraduate and postgraduate health professions education and training. She is involved in strategy and policy implementation with the Medical Council of Ireland (MCI) and the National Doctors Training and Planning, HSE.
She graduated from University College Dublin with a BSc in Chemistry and subsequently achieved a MB, BCh, BAO (NUI), LRCP/SI honours degree from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. Following her undergraduate degree, she trained in surgery and also obtained a MD doctorate in Surgery from RCSI. With an increasing interest in medical education, she completed and was awarded a Master’s in medical education in 2008 at Queen’s University Belfast.
With over 10 years’ experience as a health professions educator, Gozie’s areas of teaching interest include curriculum design and delivery and faculty development. Her research interests include simulation training and patient safety, exploring constructed identities and professional identity formation in the healthcare workplace.
