With extensive experience as a Medical Sales and Training Specialist for diagnostics, Carole excels in implementing and training on middle ware connectivity solutions, seamlessly connecting analysers in both laboratory and point-of-care settings.
Carole has also held roles as a Senior Medical Scientist and Laboratory Manager across various disciplines, specialising in Point-of-Care Testing and Biochemistry. Their commitment to Lean Thinking and process-driven approaches has significantly contributed to optimizing workflows and enhancing efficiency in laboratory operations.
Recognised for working with multidisciplinary teams, Carole effectively collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to deliver exceptional project outcomes. Their expertise in Quality Assurance and Risk Management has made them a sought-after speaker and writer on the subject.
Adding to their accomplishments, Carole holds several qualifications in their field and beyond. They earned their Fellowship in Clinical Chemistry from the University of Westminster, London and was admitted Fellow of the Academy of Clinical Science and Laboratory Medicine (ACSLM) Ireland, past Fellow of the Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS) UK and registered with the European Federation of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (EuSpLM). Additionally, Carole has an MSc in Medical Device Regulatory Affairs, Diploma in Health Services Management and qualifications in psychology, business, and marketing.
Carole set up ‘The POCT Consultancy’ to support the democratisation of healthcare and implementation of quality assured decentralised diagnostic testing. Spurred on by having seen the impact POCT can have on clinical pathways and turnaround times in hospital and primary care settings, which leads to improved outcomes for patients and the healthcare system.
